Graduates Tea

On Thursday 3rd September 2015 the Headmaster and staff welcomed the Leaving Certificate Class of 2015 back to the school. The evening is held in recognition of the students’ achievements in the state examinations. This year’s class group continued on the success of previous years and collectively achieved the highest average points score ever recorded at the school.

National trends were reflected in their college offers as many students opted to pursue courses in Business, Science and Computing with a number also returning to Engineering and Architecture Degree courses.  The majority of this year’s DGS graduates will continue their studies in the Republic of Ireland, with University College Dublin being the most popular destination. In addition a significant number have chosen to study elsewhere with college destinations including Spain, New Zealand, the USA, Scotland and Northern Ireland.

A number of students, in addition to their academic awards, also gained recognition for their athletic achievement in securing sports scholarships at home and abroad.  On behalf of the school community Mr Cyril Drury, Headmaster, congratulated all this year’s graduates and wished them every success in their future studies.
