Science Quiz Success
At the Irish Science Teacher Association Science Quiz in Kells Co. Meath in November, senior science students from schools in the East & Midlands areas were tested on the extent of their science knowledge. Two teams of DGS leaving certificate students took part and both were amongst the prize winners.
A team made up of Lucy Van Dijk, Angus Newett and Thomas Campbell finished in third place while, following a gruelling tie break, the team of Brian Jones, Ultan Murphy and Friederike Lang emerged in first place overall. Brian, Ultan and Friederike qualified for the national finals which were held in Trinity College Dublin.
