Maths Week in the Junior School

The senior classes enjoyed a wonderful morning of maths fun this month.  The guest speaker was Professor Fernando Blasco from the University of Madrid.  He uses magic to introduce topics such a prime numbers, knot theory, Sudoku, topology, number systems, mind games, Rubik’s Cube, calendars and quick calculations. 

Professor Blasco has collaborated with television shows in Spain and has performed in Civic Centres, Science Museums and University classrooms.  Professor Blasco was accompanied on his visit to the DGS Junior School by Shane Dowdall and Seamus from the DkIT Maths Department.
