Cellists
The study of music is encouraged and can be taken at both Junior and Leaving Certificate levels. Tuition in piano, stringed and wind instruments is available at extra cost. There are senior and junior choirs and a string orchestra. The school has, in recent times, won a large number of awards at Feiseanna and other music competitions. The choir members and orchestra are heavily involved in the school's light opera and music productions.
Music plays a particularly important part of school life. Over 200 pupils avail of music lessons offered in piano, violin, cello, percussion, guitar and woodwind instruments and many are members of the school orchestra. The Music Department organise an annual tour and in recent years staff and students have travelled to Prague, Belgium, Vienna and Venice.
