Debating
The school has an active debating society and students compete annually in external events such as the Leinster Schools Debating competion. In 2008/09 teams have succesfully tackled a number of challenging motions including, “the teaching of Creationism in Schools” and “making Irish an optional subject at secondary level”. The photograph shows the team that travelled to Trinity College to debate motions including “The house proposes to ban the segregation of schools in Northern Ireland” and “The house proposes that Sex education has no place on the school curriculum”.
