Dundalk Grammar School U-14 boys have made it through to the final of the FAI Schoolboys North East Division 2 with an exciting 3-2 victory over Athboy Community School in Oriel Park.   The Grammar school fell behind in the first five minutes to one of the only shots on goal that Athboy had in the first half.  After missing several chances, it took DGS until the final minute of the first half to equalise through a well-worked Daniel Bannon goal after great work from Sean O'Connor and David McMahon.

The second half started terribly for DGS when they went behind to a soft goal from a long range shot, and despite creating numerous chances the Grammar boys could not find the equalising goal they deserved. DGS had a big let off with 7 minutes to go when with Athboy looking dangerous on the break, their striker hit the post.  That was the bit of luck that the Grammar needed, and with only 3 minutes left on the clock, Josh Arrowsmith scored an equaliser and then unbelievably streaked through and lobbed the Athboy keeper to secure a breathtaking and thoroughly well deserved win for DGS.  The team now march on to our first ever FAI schoolboys final.
