Minor Girls Meath League Champions 2010
On the 14th of April the second year girls, accompanied by their coach Ms Ruth Eveson, travelled down to Dublin to face Mercy School Navan in the Meath league final. DGS fought hard and, with a goal in each half of the game, won comfortably with a 2-0 victory. The goal scorers were Elizabeth Flood and Megan McGuigan.
The team marked the end of the hockey season with an awards ceremony with the following results; Goal scorer of the Year went to Aisling Walsh with a record 21 goals this season! Most Improved went to Jemma Wilson. Players’ player of the year went to Sarah Rowntree and Manager’s player went to Goalkeeper Ciara Cornryn. This has been a season of hard work and determination. Next season we hope to bring home two shields both in Meath and Leinster leagues. This team is one to watch!
