Junior School Hockey 2011
On Tuesday 13th December the mixed junior school hockey team travelled to Bray to take on St Andrew's National school in their first fixture of the Alison Frazer League. Last year the team made it to the semi finals of this competition only to be knocked out on penalty strokes. This year's team is determined to do one better this year and make all the way to the final.
In this game the girls and boys played really well against a strong St Andrew's team. The match was very evenly contested with both teams having opportunities to score. Stevie Kierans came close on a few occasions for DGS but unfortunately couldn't find the finishing touch.
The game finished 0-0 which was probably an appropriate scoreline for a very even match. There were some very good individual performances for the Dundalk side especially from players who have only started hockey this September. It was a great result for DGS Junior School team and something for them to build on in the new year with their three remaining fixtures.
