19 Apr 5th Year Economics Class Visit Dáil Éireann and Seanad Éireann in Leinster House
5th Year Economics students have enjoyed a packed year to date, what with visits to Claire Byrne Live, Zeminar, various guest speakers, and now a visit to the home of Irish Government, Leinster House. At the invitation of Peter Fitzpatrick TD, and John McGahon, the students enjoyed an interesting visit, taking in debates in both the Dail and Seanad.
Given the refurbishment work currently in progress, the tour of Leinster House was not as comprehensive as in previous years, but interesting none the less.
The students also met with Housing Minister, Eoghan Murphy, who chatted to them briefly about his plans to deal with housing in Ireland going forward.
For those interested in politics, the afternoon spent in Leinster House was most worthwhile and informative.
