Louth Enterprise Awards

The Grammar School was represented at the Louth Student Enterprise Awards held at the Carrickdale Hotel on March 7th by 2 TY Enterprise groups: Ace Events and Luke’s Cafe, and 4 First Year mini-companies: Woodman, Mobile Holders, Fab Frames and KHS Natural Design.

Fab Frames was awarded 2nd place in the Junior category, an excellent achievement for Mia, Sophie and Jessica. Congratulations to the girls. The overall winner of the Junior section was Daisy’s Pawesome Bowties of Drogheda.

The winner of the Senior category was Duopoly of St. Mary’s College Dundalk.

The enterprising students of DGS, and indeed all the participating students of County Louth, were a credit to themselves and their schools. The standard of ideas and innovation was very impressive. The day long event was organised by Louth Enterprise Office (LEO) as part of national enterprise week, and category winners go forward to the National Student Enterprise Awards.

Meanwhile, the TY students undertaking the Hospitality and Events Management course continue their busy schedule. Next up is the Dundalk Cross-Border Student Enterprise Trade Fair in the Marshes SC on March 31st. The Event is being organised by Ace Events, so no time to rest for them. As well as taking part with their Cafe at that event, Luke’s Cafe continue their ongoing catering service in school. So all go!
